Resumen
Change.org es una conocida plataforma web internacional que sirve para dar voz a aquellas personas que buscan el apoyo popular con el fin de que las peticiones que impulsan sean relevantes y alcancen el objetivo perseguido.
En esta comunicación pretendo analizar tres peticiones de esta plataforma que están relacionadas con el establecimiento del castellano como lengua vehicular en el sistema educativo de Cataluña, la Comunidad Valenciana y las Islas Baleares, respectivamente.
La elección de estas tres peticiones ha venido motivada por el interés que nos suscita conocer las opiniones de los ciudadanos que habitan tres Comunidades Autónomas distintas, pero que comparten el mismo ámbito lingüístico, esto es, el catalán.
De las numerosas peticiones abiertas en change.org relacionadas con este asunto, han sido seleccionadas las tres más representativas por el número de firmantes. Una vez elegidas las peticiones, se procedió a analizar las principales argumentaciones dadas por los firmantes para apoyar la petición y, de estos, fueron escogidos las más relevantes por la similitud de las ideas vertidas.
Así pues, la cuestión más interesante en este análisis no son las peticiones en sí, sino las opiniones o “razones para firmar” que aportan los signatarios a favor de la vehicularidad del castellano en los sistemas educativos de sus regiones. Ello nos ha permitido establecer cinco grupos de firmantes en función de los argumentos que manejan:
- Quienes usan la defensa de la libertad y el derecho de los padres de elegir la lengua vehicular de sus hijos.
- Quienes basan su apoyo en la tesis de que la lengua autonómica (es decir, el catalán en sus distintas variedades regionales) es una lengua minoritaria y su aprendizaje carece de utilidad alguna para los alumnos.
- Quienes suscriben la idea de que, si el castellano es la lengua oficial de todo el Estado español, su estatus de lengua vehicular debería estar garantizado.
- Quienes creen que la implantación del catalán como lengua vehicular viene motivada por el auge del nacionalismo catalán, que se está imponiendo en las demás Comunidades Autónomas catalanoparlantes.
- Quienes defienden el establecimiento de un modelo educativo trilingüe, donde el inglés tenga una presencia considerable.
Este trabajo supone un pequeño acercamiento al estudio de la actitud de los ciudadanos a través de Internet con respecto, no solo a la lengua catalana, sino también a las medidas de política lingüística aplicadas a la educación que se están llevando a cabo en las Comunidades en las que el catalán es lengua cooficial.

Abstract
Change.org is a well-known international web platform that helps those people who search popular support in order that the requests they have promoted achieve the objective that was pursued and become relevant.
In this paper I intend to analyze three requests of this platform that are related to the establishment of Spanish as vehicular language in the educational system of Catalonia, Valencian Community and the Balearic Islands, respectively.
The choice of these three petitions has been motivated by our interest in knowing the opinions of citizens who live in three different regions of Spain, but who share the same linguistic area.
Having checked many requests related to this matter, we have selected the three most representative ones considering the number of people who have signed the petition: more than 20 000 signatures in each one. The most interesting issue in this analysis is not the petitions themselves, but the opinions or «reasons to sign» that the signatories have provided. After reading the main arguments that were given, we have analyzed them and we have chosen the most relevant ones taking in account the similarity of the ideas.
This fact has enabled us to create five groups of signatories:
1) Those who defend the freedom and the rights of parents to choose the vehicular language they want their children learn at school.
2) Those who believe that a regional language (that is, Catalan in its different linguistic varieties) is not useful for students’ future because is a minority language.
3) Those who subscribe the idea that if Spanish is the official language of the country, its status as a vehicular language should be guaranteed.
4) Those who believe that the introduction of the Catalan as a vehicular language is motivated by the rise of Catalan nationalism.
5) Those who support the establishment of a trilingual educational model, where English has a considerable presence.
This research is an approach to the study of the popular’s attitude through Internet about this issue related not only to the Catalan language, but also to the measures of linguistic policy applied to education that are being carried out in the regions where Catalan is a co-official language.
