Internet junto con las redes sociales está dando cabida a nuevas voces hasta ahora desconocidas o silenciadas. En un ecosistema digital en el que el poder de las nano y micro audiencias es más valorado que nunca, nuevos colectivos organizados y dotados de las habilidades digitales necesarias enriquecen el pluralismo social e informativo alimentando la agenda mediática con sus demandas, peticiones o historias. Antes de la llegada de las nuevas tecnologías, estos grupos solo contaban con herramientas propias de la comunicación oral, interpersonal o intergrupal. En el nuevo escenario mediático, sus recursos se han enriquecido tanto con herramientas online como offline, digitales y analógicas. Gracias a su interés por presentar sus historias ante la opinión pública a través de campañas digitales, los medios convencionales se están haciendo eco de problemas sociales que hasta ahora afectaban a tan solo unos pocos pero que ya cuenta con el apoyo y beneplácito de muchos.

Minorities on the Internet. The inclusion of minority voices in the digital society
Together with social networks, the Internet is providing space for new voices that until now have been unknown or silenced. In a digital ecosystem in which the power of nano and micro audiences is more valued than ever before, new collectives organized and endowed with essential digital skills enrich the social and informational pluralism, nourishing the media agenda with their demands, requests or stories. Before the arrival of the new technologies, these groups had only their own tools of oral, interpersonal or intergroup communication. In the new media scenario, their resources have been enriched by online, offline, digital and analogue tools. Thanks to this group’s interest in presenting their stories to the public through digital campaigns, conventional media are now talking about the social problems that until now affected only a few, but that now have the support and approval of many.
