Linguistic use in the digital ecosystem
Spanish is the second most widely spoken language in the world, and the third most frequently used on Internet. Millions of Spanish speakers all over the world connect every day to various websites as well as use mobile phone applications and diverse social networks to obtain information, put forth ideas, or communicate with other users.
Within the framework of the 1st International Congress on Vulnerability and Digital Culture, profound reflection is needed on the linguistic use within the digital ecosystem, which highlights the importance of the use of language on the web and the need to study Spanish, not only formally, but also as an instrument of communication in which the contradictions and ambiguities that surround the reality of Internet occur.
This Symposium intends to position itself as a space for discussion and reflection on the most recent studies regarding the Spanish language on the web. We offer this meeting place to all researchers and teachers who wish to share and learn about new approaches and methodologies. There will be room for empirical studies as well as theoretical and descriptive approaches, and works that review the bibliography and state of the issue as well.
